Rebuild Women’s Hope Hala Congolese Coffee is our Signature Single Origin Specialty Coffee: This is a Bourbon variety that is a washed/wet processed coffee. It is grown in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on Idjwi Island in Congo’s Lake Kivu. DRC is a large country in the middle of Africa. Lake Kivu is a large lake on its eastern side that forms the border with Rwanda. Idjwi Island is a large island in the middle of Lake Kivu.
Rebuild Women's Hope (RWH) is a non-profit organization based in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo. It was established in 2013 by gender equity pioneer Marceline Budza, with the aim of empowering Congolese women. Rebuild Women's Hope is working to leverage the incredible potential that coffee has in creating economic opportunities for female smallholders on Lake Idjwi.
